From the 1st January 2011 we are no longer making and selling soap direct to the public. This is due to the ever increasing amount of bespoke soaps we are making for an ever increasing wholesale client base including Shropshire Council and the National Trust in Shropshire.

We will from time to time make a few batches that will be available to the public and these will be put on the website, advertised via our Facebook page and Twitter.

Dragonfly Dawn is a small cottage based company located in the beautiful area called the South Rhins in south west Scotland. We are dedicated to producing high quality soap, bath and body products by hand, using only the finest, ethically sourced oils, butters and waxes. No animal fats are used and none of our products are tested on animals.

As a locally based company we do our best to use locally sourced products to use in our soaps where appropriate. The soaps are handcrafted by us, using the traditional cold process method in small batches. During this method, vegetable glycerine [a natural humectant] is produced which remains in the finished bar of soap. We offer a wide range of handmade soaps that are both mild and gentle.

Our soaps contain a high percentage of gentle olive oil to which we add coconut and a variety of other oils, butters or waxes depending on the soap type, for a rich, creamy bar of soap. They are mild enough to be used as a facial cleanser.

We use only the highest quality cosmetic grade fragrance oils in our soaps and high quality essential oils where appropriate. All colourants are either cosmetic grade colourants, clays, herbs or spices.

We only use palm oil that is guaranteed to be from sustainable sources and from producers who are signed up to the RSPO (Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil). For those of you who are really against the use of palm we offer a palm free range.

The soaps are certified according to E.U. law by a Cosmetic Chemist and we are also a member of the the Guild of Craft Soap & Toiletry Makers as well as being an official member of the European Directory of Soap and Cosmetics Makers and the Shropshire Hills - Buy Local, Be sustainable initiative.

As all of our soaps are handmade no two batches are the same and each bar of soap will vary in size slightly due to the fact that each bar is individually hand cut. All our our soaps are also individually wrapped and labelled by hand.

We also offer bespoke soaps for a variety of occasions from wedding and party favours to Mother's Day, Father's Day, special birthdays, baby showers and Christenings or naming ceremonies.
